I forgive you. | LOVELY LITTLE RANTS

I forgive you.

My last day at the worst job ever was the worst last day ever. My boss made me cry. Told me to suck it up, get over it, and get back to work. {Yes, those were really his exact words} And when I asked if I could just go home, he told me if I couldn't even finish my last day, I was a failure and that he was scared for my future as a failure if I left. So I stayed. Mistake #1. Throughout the day, and through my hard stare and wet eyes, he laughingly asked me if I was okay. I replied that I was trying to be. And he walked away. His lack of care and his cruel tactics tore me down. When I gave an unnecessary apology, he simply said "Good, you owe me an apology!" I've spent the last few days filled with anger. Wanting his business to crash into smitherines and for him to be broke and on the street. So I could walk by and laughing ask "are you okay??!" I only worked there  about 2 months before i quit and gave an entire months notice. Those months there, not a day went by where this man didn't say a rude remark on how my perfect work was always missing something. Once did he give me compliment. It was the weirdest occurrence and girls who had worked there far longer expressed how they have never once received anything nice from that man. Interesting.

I have something to say to you, ex-boss. I forgive you. I forgive you for the tasteless way you treated me and every other employee. I forgive you for making me cry and not only not having remorse, but saying things to encourage my teas to flow faster and longer. I forgive you for making me feel less because I have been taught that the worth of one's soul is GREAT in the sight of God. And that is who matters. That is who will help me get over your cruelty and fully forgive you.

Selena couldn't have said it better. So ex-boss, I don't care what you think of me. I am not a failure. I wish you a happier outlook on yourself and others. Your bread store in Provo will do fine without me. When people break others down, I like to think "What if that was your daughter? or sister? or best friend" no one deserves that.

  1. What a jerk! and good for you for forgiving him! Sounds like he needs some goodness in his life, otherwise he wouldn't be ragging on his employees..

I always feel sorry for bullies, they feel so small on the inside that they have to try and convince others they are "big" by being cruel.

Here's to hoping you never have to deal with a jerky boss again!

  2. Wow...just...wow...well good riddens to that jerk. It's good that you're letting it go. He would want you to feel angry forever. Good for you!

  3. gah I'm so sorry you went through this.
He seems like a very unhappy person. And you were the scapegoat for some of his issues.
    (like my psychological theory?)
Either way, no one should have to go through that. I'm sorry! Keep your chin up.

    xoxo,

  4. I feel so connected to you right now in the sense I know exactly what you're going through and how you feel.

I just quit my job because my boss was too much stress, and just an overal hateful person. Calling his employees worthless to their faces, and telling everyone to fuck off while laughing in our faces. Every day in that place was more than taxing.

I say, we both deserve better bosses and opportunities than what we had. Better things will come your way, buttercup. That, you can count on. :)

  6. What a total loser! I am sorry for his future- that he has to work at a dead-end restaurant for the rest of his life. Don't let people like that get to you Candace, they aren't worth your time and they are certainly not worth your tears!

  7. I've had such bad experience with horrible bosses. Until this job. Now my bosses are absolutely amazing. But I had a boss who made me cry and then told me he wasn't going to look at me while my make up was smudged. Glad you have a positive outlook on the situation though!
