Overpacking at its finest.
Our room was AMAZING with it's own kitchen and lounge area. Why can't we live here??
The balcony in our room had the most gorgeous view of the sunset each night!

This past weekend we were sooooo excited to take a little staycation at the Hotel Valley Ho Resort in Scottsdale. Jason usually works Saturday's so we couldn't do it earlier and we snatched up the first Saturday he had off to really celebrate our anniversary. We've done staycations before but the Hotel Valley Ho Resort has by far been our favorite place to Staycation by far. Here is our little review on the Hotel Valley Ho Resort.
We were given a tower suite to stay in and it was seriously AMAZING. I kept telling J "enjoy this because this is the first/last time we stay in such a nice room" haha it was so swanky and modern and huge!! It had a kitchen that was stalked with everything you could need (stove, counter, utensils, pots/pans, plates, cups, etc) If you saw my snapchat story than you saw how obsessed/in awe we were of our room. Every room has a patio or balcony and we LOVED the balcony. It had a gorgeous view and we got to see the sunset every single night. If you've been to Arizona, you know the sun sets do NOT disappoint.
We got there Friday night and probably 5 minutes after we got to our room, someone knocked on the door. It was a girl from the hotel and she brought us a yummy dessert, a little gift, a card, and wine for our anniversary, it was SO nice! We don't drink alcohol so we swapped the wine for lemonade (which was also sooo good) but we couldn't believe they brought us all that stuff, it was just so thoughtful and such a perfect start to our first anniversary celebration.
The next day we headed to the resort restaurant, Zuzu, for breakfast. My banana foster came with ice cream! That's probably normal but I was so excited because you guys, ice cream for BREAKFAST. And pancakes. And heaven basically. It was all so delicious and our waiter was so good and nice! I didn't finish all of it because it was so filling so we saved the rest and ended up eating it for lunch.
We went swimming after breakfast at one of their two huge pools. On Saturday's, they throw a huge pool party! They bring in a DJ and there are just soooo many people there who just want to have fun so the pool environment was just super positive and relaxing. The other pool they have is more quiet and better for kids (overall) because it has a fancy little fountain and shallow area. We wanted to be at the party pool for the afternoon, though. :)
I also liked that the waiters at the pool are constantly bringing you water/filling up your cup after 1 sip. I drink so much water so it was just nice to always have that right there and filled. Kind of random, but I just really liked how the service was and how they were always so friendly and made you feel like royalty.
After the pool we went and relaxed in our room (yes, we were still obsessed with it) and watched a movie before it was time for our couples massage. We have never had a couples massage before and every time we've been to the Hotel Valley Ho Resort we always hear the spa is amazing so we really wanted to take advantage of it this time.
The massages were realllllly reallllly relaxing (of course) and we both loved our masseuse's. I get headaches pretty often and right when my masseuse (Karen) started working on my neck she could tell that I get lots of headaches and really worked on that part and she was just so sweet. Jason wouldn't stop raving about his (Erin) so it was just a great spa experience, we would for sure recommend it when you stay there!
We went back to our room and just wanted to relax and eat dinner and be lazy (aka best way to spend your time at a resort if you ask me) So we did! Sunday morning we went to the pool one more time and just hung out and headed home. Scottsdale has so many great places to go nearby but we ended up not even leaving the resort all weekend because there was always something to do!
Overall we would give the Hotel Valley Ho Resort 5/5 stars and would reccommend it to anyone coming to town or just going away for a staycation or something. I asked Jason if there was anything he didn't like and we both couldn't think of ANYTHING we didn't like!! It was the most perfect way to officially celebrate our first year of marriage together.

*Huge thank you to the Hotel Valley Ho for sponsoring this post
How fun! Sometimes staycations are the best because you can actually relax
ReplyDeleteI totally agree! No plans is the best kind of vacation :)
DeleteNo such thing as overpacking....never.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice note to have when you enter a hotel. I certainly don't think we've ever gotten that, but then again we stay at some reallly sketchy hotels. I really like the hotel you stayed at too! Such a different style but a nice one.
I love your cheetah pocket t-shirt too...I just want all of your clothes (jk, but not really).

ReplyDeleteThank you sooooooo much!! It was so special and just perfect in every way :) We can't wait to go back!!
DeleteWHAT a whole kitchen?! I hope you got to stay a few days! Whenever I stay in really nice hotels I don't even want to sleep because I want to enjoy every second and stay up late watching tv and ordering food and looking at myself in the bathroom that no doubt has the best lighting ever. This post just made me really excited for our anniversary trip. I have no idea what the hotel looks like, John booked it, but I'm sure it doesn't have a kitchen. Probably a mini fridge though that will charge us $10 for a bottle of FIJI water again. When we were in Vegas last year, there were these huge pool parties going on and we didn't even bring swim suits because it was such a quick trip, so I just stared out the window and watched everyone having fun (and saying things like WOW those kids look young. Apparently it was during fall break for college lol) but I told John we are so going to the pool party this time. And just saying, these photos are AMAZING! The hotel should probably buy them from you and use to advertise they are that good.

Seriously! I had NO idea there would be a kitchen so I didn't bring any food and didn't use it to cook but i was still like "OMG OUR ROOM HAS A KITCHEN!!!" haha we stayed for 2 days total! And looks like we do the same things in hotels (notice my multiple mirror pictures #obsessssed) Yayyyyy I can't wait to read about your Vegas Anniversary trip soon and all the pool parties you crash! If I forgot my suit and we were in a different state I would probably beg Jason to let me buy one, i wouldn't be able to handle missing out on the pool festivities. and THANK YOU!!! I tried so hard to make the pictures look good and I've been looking up photography tips like crazy (because I care too much) so thank you thank YOUUU for saving that.
