I know, I know, I know. I am totally that wife that feels the need to make sure we remember our once in a lifetime moments. Like eating year old cake on our first anniversary. You literally only do that ONCE in your marriage. At first I had this vision of us dressed up in wedding clothes and eating cake but LUCKILY Jason talked me out of that one. It would have been weird haha so last minute we decided normal clothes it is! Part of my vision included this bench (same one from this post) and luckily, our photographer caught my vision to a T (bless her soul!)
ps didn't die from eating it so that was cool. It wasn't terrrrrrible but it wasn't like delicious or anything. It was made with fresh strawberries so like trying to preserve those inside of a cake inside of a freezer for an entire year doesn't do too well. So the strawberries looked gross and the frosting was gross and the cake part was decent. And we made a memory so really that's all I even cared about. Yay memories!!
For our anniversary I cleaned the house while Jason was at work all day. Please tell me I'm a good wife because I cleaned the toilets and that is probably my LEAST favorite job and I usually bribe Jason to do it. Like I'll clean the entire vanity and bathroom if you do the toilet! It's just disgusting and gross but I did it. And washed my hands 100 times afterwards so yeah.
I made reservations at this restaurant called The Compass. It's in Phoenix and it is on top of a fancy hotel and the restaurant SPINS. You read that right, literally spins around super slowly and you get to see the entire city and feel cool. Seriously it was like $30-$45 a plate so you know we cried on the inside while we got some fancy food (that better be laced with actual gold because come on) But it was our first anniversary and we had to go somewhere we would normally never go and just feel happy about our big milestone in our marriage!
My birthday gifts were like a combo for anniversary gifts and I got Jason this watch + an xbox one. Let me brag for a minute and just say I feel like I'm prime at finding good deals online so I got a really good deal on it and he had been wanting one so bad so I just was like ahhh ok. And he promises not to play on it too much so that's good!
Ok and can we please just all be so happy about my necklace? I have literally not taken it off since it came a week ago. I was SO happy I found Tom Design Shop. I am such a sucker for little dainty initial / sentimental jewelry so I was so excited when she gave me one! And that hair clip! This woman has talent. I will be wearing a few more of her cute pieces in future posts :) They are a little wife + husband shop like how Jason and I are so I just love that! They hand make their jewelry AND they are offering my readers 20% off when you use the code WELCOME20 at checkout!!
ps whenever I wear this shirt people ask where I got it! It is SO cheap and I linked it below.
