I'm THAT wife | LOVELY LITTLE RANTS

I'm THAT wife

shirt: Romwe shoes: forever 21 jeans: H&M necklace c/o: Tom design shop hair clip c/o: Tom design shop

I know, I know, I know. I am totally that wife that feels the need to make sure we remember our once in a lifetime moments. Like eating year old cake on our first anniversary. You literally only do that ONCE in your marriage. At first I had this vision of us dressed up in wedding clothes and eating cake but LUCKILY Jason talked me out of that one. It would have been weird haha so last minute we decided normal clothes it is! Part of my vision included this bench (same one from this post) and luckily, our photographer caught my vision to a T (bless her soul!)
ps didn't die from eating it so that was cool. It wasn't terrrrrrible but it wasn't like delicious or anything. It was made with fresh strawberries so like trying to preserve those inside of a cake inside of a freezer for an entire year doesn't do too well. So the strawberries looked gross and the frosting was gross and the cake part was decent. And we made a memory so really that's all I even cared about. Yay memories!!

For our anniversary I cleaned the house while Jason was at work all day. Please tell me I'm a good wife because I cleaned the toilets and that is probably my LEAST favorite job and I usually bribe Jason to do it. Like I'll clean the entire vanity and bathroom if you do the toilet! It's just disgusting and gross but I did it. And washed my hands 100 times afterwards so yeah.
I made reservations at this restaurant called The Compass. It's in Phoenix and it is on top of a fancy hotel and the restaurant SPINS. You read that right, literally spins around super slowly and you get to see the entire city and feel cool. Seriously it was like $30-$45 a plate so you know we cried on the inside while we got some fancy food (that better be laced with actual gold because come on) But it was our first anniversary and we had to go somewhere we would normally never go and just feel happy about our big milestone in our marriage!
My birthday gifts were like a combo for anniversary gifts and I got Jason this watch + an xbox one. Let me brag for a minute and just say I feel like I'm prime at finding good deals online so I got a really good deal on it and he had been wanting one so bad so I just was like ahhh ok. And he promises not to play on it too much so that's good!
Ok and can we please just all be so happy about my necklace? I have literally not taken it off since it came a week ago. I was SO happy I found Tom Design Shop. I am such a sucker for little dainty initial / sentimental jewelry so I was so excited when she gave me one! And that hair clip! This woman has talent. I will be wearing a few more of her cute pieces in future posts :)  They are a little wife + husband shop like how Jason and I are so I just love that! They hand make their jewelry AND they are offering my readers 20% off when you use the code WELCOME20 at checkout!!

Happy Monday!!

ps whenever I wear this shirt people ask where I got it! It is SO cheap and I linked it below.

  3. Great pictures! I looove that hair clip too! We're doing cupcakes and then a tiny little cutting cake (like probably smaller than the top tier that you froze) so I have no idea if we'll be freezing anything to eat on our anniversary!

  4. Love those pictures! We never froze our wedding cake (we got married 10 hours from where we live) so we just went to Whole Foods and picked out our favorite desserts. We had to somehow keep up the tradition!

  6. Totally froze and saved some of our wedding cake too. We both had a bite and threw it out haha. It had fresh butter cream frosting and the cake was so moist and soft. A year later the frosting looked questionable after it thawed and the cake was still soft and decent, but the frosting totally threw us off haha

    Happy Anniversary!

    1. hahaha Ours looked normal but when I saw the strawberries I couldn't eat much of it. They did not look good at all! The cake part was decent but the frosting was freezer burnt. And thank youuu, Amanda!!!

  7. Love these pictures, such a fun way to remember your first anniversary! I tried my cousins wedding cake a year later as she kept some of hers and I loved it so much at the actual wedding! It was not as nice as I remembered so I was a tad disappointed but it was a year later and it is cake so can I really complain?
I am with you on the toilet cleaning, I would take any chore over that one anyday!

  8. Love these photos! And don't worry I'm all about being that wife too. I made Kyle take the same picture we did when we got married like 600 times (had to get the perfect one). Glad you didn't get sick from the cake. I'd be worried about them strawberries. Happy anniversary!!!

  10. I just ordered a necklace haha, right when I saw that picture I was thinking "where did she get that?!" haha. But I did a lower case 'a' because I think it's so cute. And you know I can't to j&m, it would have to be j&m&t (for ted) haha. I loooooove the pictures. I have been thinking maybe when we got to Vegas for our 1 year I should get some photos done because we've never had any professional photos done, EVER! But I just don't know. We aren't all model-like like you guys ;)

I love initial necklaces. and date ones, and basically anything that I can personalize haha awhhh Ted totally would HAVE to be added to your family necklace. He IS the only child! That's awesome you guys are going to Vegas! PSHHH model like. yeah right haha we literally we like uhh does this look ok? Do I look dumb? during each picture. get pictures done!!!

    2. Yes duh from the Tom place! I wouldn't ignore your suggestion and go somewhere else lol! She even shipped it already. And I am SUCH SUCKER for little jewelry too. I have so many tiny necklaces. But they are all different and special, so it's fine. I'm going to look into doing pictures...because someday I will be old and regret it. Or at least that's how I'm going to pitch the idea to John haha.

    3. haha I wasn't sure if you had one already that you ordered a while ago! I wanna see it when it comes!! Seriously little dainty jewelry was made for me. DO PICTURES!!!! They'll be so fun to look back on and fun for your kids to see. Ted would love them, too ;)

  22. Such a fun photo shoot! Love that idea! Drew would never go for it because he's a stinker but I love him. I actually only got one bite of our wedding cake. The bite drew fed me. Oh and one off my sisters plate. We brought some home but drew are that before I got any. We didn't save the top for the reasons you share, thought it would be gross. The things we do for love and a good picture!! Ha ha
