Stuffed full. | LOVELY LITTLE RANTS

Stuffed full.

3 batches of rolls my friends, pretend you're impressed with my domestic roll making. :) We all brought something to help out and I was trying to be super impressive and make those rolls for everyone! I got the recipie straight from pinterest and trippled the recipie because I don't know about you, but I LOVE rolls at big fancy dinners. I seem to eat like 10 so I wanted to make sure everyone could have like 20 each if they felt like it. BECAUSE WHY NOT?! We did leave with some left over, but not a ton, so I'm guessing they were good, right?

My sister in law, Lindsey, is like this amazing bakery chef and always causally whips up all these yummy things. She made coconut cream pie and pumpkin pie and obviously they were amazing!

I told Merrick and Mady to get together for a picture and their pose was pretend fighting haha they're so cute! Also our future sons are going to be cute and wear hats like that, I love little boys in hats!! I just think it's the cutest thing ever.

The amazing bakery chef (aka Lindsey)

Juddy (Justin aka J's older brother) and his wife, Lindsey

Colton (J's younger brother) and his cute girlfriend Jayme :)

Ya wanna know what? I love thanksgiving. And also, my in laws just so happen to be the best cooks in this entire world. That's not even me just trying to suck up, it's actually 100% true!! Obviously I married into the perfect family when it comes to holidays. And let's be honest, I hit the in law jackpot just in general. I invited my dad to come to dinner and I was so glad he could come! It really wouldn't have been complete without my dad there. He always makes this huge deal about how he can out eat anyone anytime etc etc so he stuffed himself silly with Thanksgiving food. All the while, he kept repeating how he can eat so much and out eat the world. Then guess what? After Mr. Confident ate and ate, all the food made him feel a little too full and he had to sit down for a while or else he would probably explode (his words, guys)

I may have had to force my dad to let me take his picture, but come on dad, you are so glad I took these :) #memories

Football was on all night. Ask me if I like sports? or... if I even understand football at all.

Trying to take a picture with some of the nieces and nephews but my lens literally weights the same as a new born baby & it's slighty a zoom lens so this is all I got, people. Merrick- "Was my hat covering my eyes?!! yes?? YES!!!" haha

I was sad I didn't get pictures of everyone (cause these aren't of  all of us that were there) but I was already being that annoying girl who kept taking pictures so I TRIED to keep it to a minimum. Tried. I don't want my in laws to think I'm some picture taking freak (even though I am)

My twin, Craig, came over the next Morning and I just liked this picture so here you go.

Every Sunday Jason and I go to his parents house and we all get together to eat and hang out and you guys it's the highlight of my week!! So in the spirit of this being a Thanksgiving post, I just want to say I'm thankful for my Shiflet side so so much! They seriously blow me away at how caring and kind they always are!!

On Friday, my brother Camaron, sis in law, Andrea, and their kids Sloane and Fox came over! Craig was in town from school so we all hung out (Jason was at work for the first little bit of us all being together :'( ) I was really glad I got to see them and it's always so fun to play with Fox and Sloane, they are so cute omg.

On Friday night, I started to feel nauseous and as the night grew older, the nausea grew worse until, you guessed it, I threw up everything I had ever eaten in my entire life. Every hour or two after, I woke up and threw up anything else my stomach had to offer! Jason was so cute and woke up with me when he heard me basically dying, he tried to help and make sure I was ok and comfortable and not dead. He was so sad he had to go to work so early so he called his mom to see if she could bring me sprite or something cause he literally had no time to grab any! She came over with Sprite, crackers, and invited me to come to their house so she could take care of me :) It was seriously so nice!!!!!!!

My mother in law is the biggest saint you could ever meet. I want to be like her so bad. She never lets things get to her and she is just this lady who will do anything for anyone! Let alone she is an amazing cook and just an amazing person in general. She is the best example of a mom you could ever imagine!!! I've learned more from her on different little things then I've learned in my whole life haha Basically she is the best and she was so so sweet to let me come hang out while I was sick! Best part?! She had a TON of nice makeup that she got from Ulta and never used so she gave it to me. Being sick wasn't soooo bad afterall.

Jason caught my bug Saturday night but he didn't have it as bad as I did, luckily!! We took it easy on Sunday and ate at his parents house, and just had the best weekend (aside from the sick parts) I love my married family and I really am so thankful for this entire long weekend!! It was so much fun and much needed to get a little break from life.

  1. Love how cozy your shirt looks in the first picture. Also, getting sick sucks, but sometimes getting pampered by the people around you can alllmost make up for it, so I'm glad you had that, at least!

  6. Sometimes I feel bad for writing suuuuch long comments on your posts lol...but I can't help it. So your rolls look awesome. I bought mine lol. I'm asking you for the recipe next year lol. That is so cute that your Dad came to Thanksgiving!!!! I love that so much. Johns parents totally used to invite my Mom to everything because she's single (like so sad around the holidays) but she is weird and like prefers to be alone lol. But I just think having close families is so cool! And omg, don't even talk to me about football after this weekend. I never want to see a football or hear the word football or hear the stupid sounds coming from the tv. This is in a post I'm writing (super slowly writing lol) but I got like so mad at John and his brother for watching so much football. It was like literally NEVER ENDING. There's only so much I can do in a tiny apartment while trying to avoid football on the tv so I think I went a little crazy (psycho). But yeah. Those pies look SO GOOD!!!! I kind of felt the same way after dessert...like I was proud of myself after I ate dinner that I wasn't sickly full, but after dessert I was mad at myself lol. Your post title is perfect by the way ;) And you have to dress your future baby boys in hats because it would look just like Jason! Also this is random but it really bothers me when people dress their kids like not humans..like I'm going to dress my kids in clothes that I would want to wear lol. Like babies in tutus and things drive me nuts. Maybe I'm by myself in this lol but maybe you know what I mean. Basically every time I go to jcrew I walk through the kid section and I'm like Yes this is the stuff I would wear if I was 3 lol.

    1. Never feel bad, I love them!!! and then it makes me feel like my long comments on your blog are ok haha I wanted to impress my inlaws so I debated buying and then decided to make them. Pinterest is my bff haha I have never made rolls before so I was just like dgaf gotta do it! OMG let's parent trap our parents!!!! ;) haha then we could be sisters!! And I could be Ted's Aunt!!! Seriously one football game would end and then what do ya know? One of the other 500 sports channels was playing the next game and they literally never ended. Luckily I have sister in laws I can talk to so I don't have to pretend like I care about football. bleh. Hurry and write your post so I can read it!!!! K I agree, like I'm not a huge fan of dressing a baby in like 500 trendy things (ie: mocs with suspenders with fake glasses with cuffed pants etc etc) it's just too much for me. I haven't been inside a Jcrew in SO LONG :'( I need to stalk their kid section like now. And then buy everything and hope it was for the right gender haha

I am thankful for mine as well, they are pretty awesome compared to most! So sorry that you ended up getting sick, but super awesome of your MIL to take care of you :) Bonus side? 14. We had rolls at our thanksgiving dinner, I could not stop eating them! They went fast and it was just me and Kyle eating like 2 dozen. You are so lucky to have such a big family of your family and ILs! With all those wonderful cooks around I'd easily be 500 lbs. too much good food all around. And even if you didn't get the best pictures, they look so beautiful, having a good camera makes such a difference I really need to invest in one one of these days. The iphone camera just isn't cutting it with these gorgeous photos I'm seeing on your blog and others.

    1. Yum rolllllls!!! I ate sooo much and I don't regret it... too much haha I love my camera and the lens for us was a really good investment, I love all the pictures it takes, I also am really into photography so my goal was to invest in something I will really use all the time. Iphone pictures are still good, though!! They still get the job done and it's easier to carry a phone around instead of a camera for sure!
