That one time when I quit my day job. | LOVELY LITTLE RANTS

That one time when I quit my day job.

Signs can all be found here :)

So yeah, I quit my job.

I LOVE the place I work for, the people, the environment, the everything. It's all great and honestly so perfect! I've been debating leaving for a bit, but always came up with new excuses to stay because, again. I loved it there!! I finally decided to quit last week when I decided trying to keep up with Framed and work and school and marketing my business and blogging, it was just all too much! I only work for there about 20-22 hours per week, but I could REALLY use those hours. I work between 45-60 hours per week on Framed so my life was just turning into a huge circus. Plus, I didn't even have much time to grow my business because marketing takes even more time that I don't really have.

When I quit I was so scared. I was literally shaking (because come on, it's scary!!) Who likes disappointing people? I've only been here for about 10 months (which is nothing in the business world, right?) So I felt dumb quitting so early but they were so understanding and nice and said they totally understood!! Luckily, Framed has been such a huge blessing and kind of crazy it has become busy enough to quit my job. So while I'm nervous and you never know what will happen, overall I fell like it was the right decision for me and Jason and our business. I will be at my day job until the end of December and I already am so excited to start the new year with that extra time to finish orders, grow my business, blog more, and other fun life changes that happen! So wish me luck and you guys are the best! Thank you for reading my blog and supporting my business and just being awesome.

  1. WOW! WOW! WOW! YAY! YAY! YAY! Congrats, lady, that is so stinking wonderful. I'm so happy for you and totally understand about feeling like when you leave you disappoint people. We are getting ready to make a big change and I worry about work taking the news we give them. But, you have to do you and take the plunge. PROUD OF YOU! xoxo

  3. Congrats girl!! I work between 2 places right now and the place I've been at for 5 years now, I am quitting by the new year and I am so sad I won't get to see some of my coworkers, but I can't wait to go part time and have my days off during the week and every other weekend free. With 7 months (eek) left until my wedding, I definitely need to fit in time to get wedding stuff done and working basically everyday except one day was not helping! It's great that now you'll get time to focus more on marketing your business and build that up!

  9. I get serious anxiety even picturing the day I'm going to quit my job. I've been here for almost five years, and probably another two until I finish my degree and I'm so attached to everyone. Saying goodbye to dear friends like that is so hard.

BUT CONGRATS on Framed growing enough to quit you job!! That's the dream right there, way to go!

  13. Good for you, girlie! I think that you'll be much happier & who wouldn't want their day job to be making signs?! That's awesome!

By the way, I see one of my signs up there! I got them all today &, like I thought, they all look amazing. I've already posted the one for myself & will hopefully get that hung on the wall this weekend. The other ones will be posted after I give them to their owners. :)

    Thanks again!

  14. GOOD FOR YOU!!! I have always wondered how you do it all! You can't spread yourself so thin like that, or nothing will be at it's potential you know? That is so exciting. Isn't is crazy how hours just add up until there's no time? Like whenever I'm at work lately all I can think about is the hours I'm losing. I think that this is so great for you. Legit girl so so happy for you. xo

    2. Thank you!!!!!!!!!! Yes yes I feel the same, I just feel like I need to either ditch it or keep building it so that's pretty much why I quit, so I can have more time to make it something I want it to be! Seriously I was doing the math on how much I work on them and I was like "whoa!!" didn't realize I was cooped up in there for so many hours at a time haha LUCKILY I didn't cry, but my first words to my boss were "...I'm scared" haha
