NYE party animals.

It's still ok to talk about NYE right? K cool then here we go! Our friend Matt is an event party throwing guy (it's cooler than that sounds, I just don't know what his official title is, k?) and he was throwing a party for new years eve! Since we are really cool married people (and don't party or anything or make plans for NYE haha) he asked us to work his party and collect money and stuff. It was a high school party and it was so huge!! I was so surprised so many people went/ their parents aloud them to go to a party on NYE/ their parents aloud them to wear scraps of clothing in public. I don't think my parents would have let me go to a non school sponsored or church sponsored party in high school so I was secretly a little jealous I never went to something like this when I was a young buck. We had lots of parties at my house (I wasn't loser I promise haha) but I mean I don't think my parents would have let me go to something quite like this type of party!

It was funny watching the girls and boys flirt and try to impress each other. One girl hid a teeny tiny top stuffed underneath her teeny tiny top and tossed it to her friend to change into. I felt like I had witnessed a drug deal haha because I totally did dumb stuff like that in high school. Wear something conservative to school in front of my parents and then change into something more revealing when I got to school. Pretty much the extent of my rebellion. I think my dad knew that I did that but if not SORRY DAD and sorry but you can't ground me now because I'm an adult or something so just accept this as my public "I'm sorry" and I'll buy you ice cream or something to make up for it. xo

So yeah we were at the very front collecting money from all the rich high school kids (ok maybe not rich but you could TOTALLY tell the ones who had endless reign on their parents money) and Jason, who happens to be an accounting major and work at a bank, was getting a girl change and goes "Do you want two $5's or a $10 bill?" and I thought it was soooooo funny because the kids wouldn't care if he gave them 10 $1 bills or something but it was so cute Jason is just this cute banker guy who is all professional even at a high school party. He SAYS he had change in his hand so he offered it but I know he did it because he is just all professional and smart like that. I on the other hand was scrambling to get change and trying to catch money as these kids tossed it at me. So many high school girls loved Jason. Loved him. Sorry girls, he's my boo.

Every now and then I'd walk over to the huge room where the party was going on and I pulled my phone out and it LITERALLY fogged up because it was sooooooooooooooooooo I guess 'wet' in that room and the air was just moist. Yeah gross. haha At midnight we counted down and kissed (if you follow me on snapchat you saw us kiss and me kinda be weird because I was so excited. ps snap name is kahandace) and it was great! After the kids all left, we left and went on a late night wal mart run and got home around 3am! Jason left at 4am to go hunting for the weekend (he got a Javelina!!) and I stayed home Saturday and just got stuff done and worked on stuff for Framed!  2016 has been pretty good so far and has lots to come!!

In case you were wondering, this is Jason and his prize :) I go on a Javelina hunt in February. I've never hunted before so this should be interesting. ps don't hate us because we hunt, k? We eat the meat and stuff so it's not like we just kill for fun, we (I guess they) use everything they can from any animal they kill. Just a little speal in case anyone is offended by animal killing.  Just remember that the hamburger you eat comes from a less happy place than the wild ;)  This cute guy is getting made into a summer sausage that I don't know if I'll try.... probably not!!

  4. Lol this was so cute. I totally was "uncool" in school too. I never even did the conservative to provocative clothing switcheroo. Happy New Year and many blessings for 2016!

  5. This sounds silly but I think it would be so fun/hilarious to man an event like that. I have never heard of a javelin...I need to google that right now! Although I am guessing some type of pig since it is sausage you will be making?

  6. So funny about the high school party. I used to teach, and some of the things the kids do are so wild but yet entertaining. Congratulations to Jason on his hunt and being banker of the night!

  8. Good evening:
My name is Ima Gunna Soo-U from the country of Singapore. I am an internationally known Attorney specializing in parental law. I found this blog by accident while doing research for an upcoming case. I feel it is my duty to correct Ms. Shiflett on a critical aspect of parental law.

Because she is now an adult, Ms. Shiflet claims that her father can no longer ground her for disobedient acts she committed as a teenager. I regret to inform her that according to Singapore International Law (which is binding upon all countries North of Australia), this is false. Ms. Shifflet's father does in fact have power to ground her until she is 95 years of age or until she reaches the height of 5'-3", whichever comes first.

Ms. Shiflet is hereby forewarned that I will immediately send a copy of this post to her father.
    Sincerely,
    Ima Gunna Soo-U

  11. Sounds like a very interesting way to spend NYE. My parents probably wouldn't have allowed me to go to a party like that either. I think that they finally started letting me go to parties & such my senior year but my mom needed to know EVERY detail & I always told her cuz otherwise she would find out & I would not be here to post this comment. Tee hee!

Congrats to Jason & his kill...it's a creepy looking lil thing & I probably wouldn't eat the sausage either. Blah.

    1. haha yes it was very interesting for sure! I am glad overall that I didn't go to these parties, HS was already filled with enough pressure to be cool!

Yeah, I may try a LITTLE bit of the sausage but thinking about it makes me sick haha

  13. Okay so I totally saw your snaps and was like, "DANG Candace is at a rave!!!" hahahaha. I was jealous. I was sitting at home eating ice cream out of the carton and probably crying. (just kidding) That's interesting though. I feel like you do all this nice stuff for people all the time, helping out and what not. (making blankets for the homeless people come to mind) I think it's adorable. And honestly sounds like fun to me lol. I would totally be like people watching and listening to all their conversations and making up couples in my mind haha. I find high school kids fascinating these days. They're cray!!! Anyways. NEVER heard of this animal Jason got. Is it related to a pig?? I totally thought it was like a wild boar. So do you hunt for real, or is this like a new married couple activity? I don't know why, but I can't picture it haha. Like every other boyfriend I ever had hunted (esp where we're from) and so I kind of secretly love that John doesn't. But..those homemade summer sausages are good. AND so organic-ish ;)

    1. hahah me at a rave! THAT would be a sight to see ;) dang now I have to come clean, yes we didddd help out at the party, BUT he paid us to do it so it wasn't exactly service. Oh people watching at this thing was the best, so many teens trying to impress each other and trying to flirt to get in for free (I had to be tough and teenagers hate tough) Yes!!! that animal is in the pig family! Just MUCH uglier haha So Jason's dad is a BIG hunter, like animal heads all over their house and stuff and Jason is a hunter but he isn't like super into it, like I think he has lots of fun but it's also a good bonding experience for him and his dad/brothers. I have never hunted so this will be new to me! I'm sure I won't kill a thing haha I keep saying I want to shoot a deer in the foot so I can catch it and take it home to be my pet. Wish me luck :) hahah ew, organic summer sausages, blehhhhhh

  14. LOL!! Okay, so yeah, when I was in highschool, my parents basically never let me do that kind of stuff xD! I feel like hs parties now are so wild compared to when I was in hs! Girls straight up look like they are 25 and the guys are all awkward yet exceptionally hormonal and try to 'impress' girls, as you mentioned. My little brother is in high school now (freshman) and it's so amusing watching him communicate with other people his age lol! Your post made me laugh! that must have been a really interesting experience to be in!! Sweet of you to help/work for your friend. And LOL that they were in love with Jason hahaha xD...too good, too good... Sounds like your NYE/NY was fun! <3 Enjoy the rest of your week! xo

    1. Yes these days parties seem like super crazy compared to when I was in HS ( I guess I never really went to real parties, but this one seemed like intense!) But yeah, so much makeup and so little clothing, it's crazy! hahah That would be fun to have a younger sibling in HS!! Ahhh the pressure though! Glad I'm out of HS :) Happy late NY!!! xo
