That time I pet a pony. | LOVELY LITTLE RANTS

That time I pet a pony.

So last weekend I went hunting with my father in law! We were out for 2 straight days and didn't see one javelina!! So I never shot the gun or killed anything which honestly, the more I thought about killing something, the more I was a little glad it didn't happen haha Javelina are basically just stinky black pigs that apparently taste good but I mean what is its mom going to say if it doesn't come home for dinner that night?! Exactly.

Anyways, we didn't see Javelina, but we saw pretty much every other desert animal! Obviously took pictures of everything.

Texas long horn aka a cow with horns.

The hotel had a huge bowl of these! They're Barcelona candy and since J lived in Spain for 2 years I got every flavor I could to bring back to him. The hotel lady DID say take as many as you want so obviously I did. (He couldn't come because he couldn't get off work for the weekend)

My father in law is from the area we hunted in (small town in AZ called Safford) and his parents are buried in the cemetery up there so we went and visited the graves. I wish I could have met them!!

Shiflet Ave! I guess Shiflet's back in the day bought a bunch of houses next to each other so they called it Shiflet ave! I thought it was so cool!

Big horned sheep were everywhere (also cows we too but they aren't as cute as these guys)

Poppys for days all over the hills! They were so pretty!

And then I pet a pony and I was so happy and literally loved every second and never wanted to leave. They were the cutest things I've ever seen. And I don't even know whose they were but there were just 2 in this person yard and you can't just see a pony and NOT pet it.

So I guess hunting wasn't so bad ;) And it was fun to spend some time with my father in law and see so many cool things and hear all his neat stories. Day 2 when we left we went to dinner and I invited J and his mom to come eat with us. J said he had homework but his mom was going to come so I was still so excited to see her! In walks my mother in law andddd Jason! I was so happy to see my sweetie. Like really the second I saw him, I was just like so happy and jumped up to hug and kiss him and I'm sure he loved every second ;) Love you J! xoxox

  5. There's a Joiner Rd where I live and a Joiner, AR, not named after us hahahah. I wish though.

I'm kind of glad you didn't kill anything either, but that's because I'm not a big fan of hunting, I always feel bad for the animal even though I know I eat animals everyday :\

Still sounds like a great weekend that you had :) Visiting your grandparent's in law's grave. And seeing sheep! I think that's my chinese zodiac sign the ram?

  13. I was watching your snaps like, WHAT!?! That's Arizona??! It's soo beautiful! But that cow with the horns looks scary. No way I would get close to that guy lol. You should totally move to that street someday. Or get a sign to put in your house lol. Do the Shiflets still live there?

    1. hahah I know people usually think AZ is like this desert wasteland but it's actually really pretty!! :) Some Shiflet's live there but most of them live in the city now, I dunno if I could ever live in a small town for forever

  14. I totally think like you. I can rarely see an animal and not feel an urge to pet it. Even that long horn. haha Well.... maybe not? I think it's great you spent time with your father in law and learned a little more about his family origins. Great stories for the little one one day! (:

    1. hahah yesss!! I've asked Jason to stop when we're driving before because I see a dog or something that looks lost and I'm like "we have to take it home and save it!!!" and he's like ughhh again?! hahah I was too scared of the long horn afterall, the closer I got, the more nervous I was that it would charge me or something!!
