37 weeks of baby | LOVELY LITTLE RANTS

37 weeks of baby

Dress: c/o Posey and Pence. Shoes: Steve Madden

GUYS IT IS GETTING SO CLOSE. Like literally yesterday (plus 8 months) ago I found out I was pregnant and now she could come any second, even right now. Who even knows! Basically no crazy symptoms anymore (yay!) just still sleepy and feeling ginormous. Bending down is a chore so heaven forbid I drop anything on the floor because it will be staying there until someone (Jason) can come pick it up. I am 37 weeks and 3 days and I have another appointment tomorrow!

If you've been following me on snap chat, you saw that I have been eating dates (basically prunes but they look even more gross) off the wazoo because apparently they help soften the cervix aka smoother/faster labor. It isn't a "proven fact" but there's been studies showing that it works and I'm all about them studies. So yeah, dates are honestly so gross if you just eat them (in my opinion) so every morning I toss 6-8 of them in my smoothie and then I can barely taste them! One thing I read said to eat at least 6 (very precise) a day at around 4-5 weeks left in your pregnancy. I've also been taking red raspberry leaf supplements because they are said to do similar things like dates. If it's all a lie, at least they are healthy and hold a ton of other benefits.

So let's talk about this dress for a second. As you know I will never try to even pretend that I think $80 for a shirt is a good deal, because it isn't. I shop deals and I love sharing them with you guys! This dress is from Posey and Pence, they basically have everything normal boutiques have, but they mark them down WAY LESS. Like I bought a different dress a few months ago from some boutique that I thought was decently priced and then saw the SAME DRESS on Posey and Pence for $13 less than what I paid. Anyways, just sharing the love because there's enough deals to go around :)

Happy Monday!

  1. You look so cute! I tried the whole dates thing when I was pregnant and sadly it did nothing. I was still 8 days overdue with my daughter. Hopefully, you have a better result!

  2. I'm stoked for you to go into labor because I'm SOOO curious about this date thing! My labor wasn't horrible, but if there's anything I can do to make it smoother next time around, I'm all for it! haha This is a beautiful color on you!

  3. I will have to remember your date trick. When I did Whole 30 I had dates as snacks sometimes because it was one of the only decent snacks you could have so I think I could totally handle a little of them! Have you thought about adding some to a salad or something? Or drizzle a little honey on them. There are ways you can make them better :)

    1. I wish I liked plain dates, I can handle them in food but they're too sweet for me to eat plain haha Right now I throw a bunch in smoothies but a salad is such a good idea, too!!

  6. SO CLOSE!!! I can't believe it. I swear every time I see your name on snapchat I think "omg maybe she's at the hospital" or something haha. But nope. not yet. Just cupcake baking and what not lol. (That was a funny one.) So, let me just tell you. You're adorable. Your belly is adorable. That color on you is adorable, lol. It's all adorable. And dates are weird. And I hope they work for you, haha.

  7. Okay so Larabars are made from dates...and I eat Larabars constantly because there's no added sugar (just sugar from the dates...but I do cheat and get the kinds with chocolate chips in them so I guess that's added sugar) so I feel like you've created a monster and I will eat like 6 Larabars a day toward the end of my pregnancy (if/when I ever get pregnant, I'm not pregnant now like I made it sound, ha!). Ahhh I am so excited for you!!<--- Feel like I comment that ever time haha. Did you guys ever settle on a name? I'm excited for her to get here so we can find out (even if you guys don't even agree on one until she's here!).

    1. hahah it's a good excuse to eat them! Like, "well they help with the baby so I have to eat lots of larabars..." win-win ;) We finally have a name! Like it's a miracle we agreed. Literal miracle. (I know you already know that from a different post but I'm clearly so behind at replying!! ahhhh!!)

  8. I drank red raspberry leaf tea everyday.. I didn't eat dates but I was taking evening primrose oil because it was supposed to do the same thing. Obviously nothing worked for me ;) Man I tried everything and I mean EVERYTHING haha but like you said, can't hurt! And I'll probably try it all again next time too.

  12. So cute!! The last months of pregnancy are way harder than having a newborn in my opinion so hang in there! I ate coconut covered dates like crazy during my fourth pregnancy and it was my "easiest" and quickest delivery!! Could be a coincidence but like you said they are super healthy and loaded with magnesium which is so good for you! Should help with leg cramps and restless leg syndrome if you get that during pregnancy. Good luck and God bless! You are almost there!!
