Things everyone says when you're pregnant.

shoes: Steve Madden. Dress: c/o Posey and Pence

"Oh my gosh, when are you DUE?! Any day, right?"
"It's a girl, huh? You're carrying high!"
"It's a boy, huh? I can just tell!"
"WHOA"
"You could pop anyday!"
"You are allllll belly!"
"Are there twins in there??"
"What if you have an 11 pound baby?"

If you've been pregnant, these probably sounded familiar. The comments you hear when you're going to deliver soon (or... not soon!) It's like once you start hearing these things, you're officially in the pregnant lady club and you can now relate with everyone who has been pregnant. I don't mind the comments and I think they're funny (...now haha ;) ) Now I can 100% own that I look very pregnant and the funny comments just are good reminders that I am THAT much closer to meeting baby girl! I totally expect them, every single time I step foot outside, a handful of people comment and are not surprised one bit that I'm due in 2 weeks. Girlfriend is well fed, 'ight?

Probably 99.9% of these type of comments come from strangers. I feel a little jipped because strangers never rub my belly, which is what I heard would happen and doesn't! What gives, strangers!? ;) People do ask a lot though if it bugs me when people rub my belly, but I don't have a good answer because like no one even does. So feel free, guys.

WARNING this might gross you out. There, you were warned. Still 1cm dilated but 70% effaced. Don't really know exactly what that means, but pretty sure labor is going to take its sweet time. I've had some braxton hicks but I don't think any real contractions yet. It is crazy to know that she really could come right now if she really wanted to, though! Dresses and running shorts are my absolute jam because AZ offers no remorse when you're pregnant. It actually just gets hotter and the second you step outside, sweat just appears out of no where! It's ok, though, I'll take a dry heat over humidity ANY day, personally. That about wraps it up! My birthday is Sunday so I just asked Jason if we could do  a "spa" day aka get manicures and pedicures aka I want to look half decent when I deliver a baby so this will be heaven!!

  2. If someone asks me if I have twins in there I am going to punch them in the face. So rude! Haha! You are getting so close!!! I hope you can make spa day work!! And girl, I would totally take your dry heat over our humidity! It is so miserable here with 100 degree temps and humidity at like 90%. Ugh!!!

    1. hahah It was an old man who asked about the twins so I decided not to punch him ;) Oh man that is so much humidity!! I can't complain about the heat here since it's at least dry. Hope it goes down soon (does humidity go down?? haha I'm clueless!)

  6. I have absolutely no idea what effaced means. People say it, and I'm like "okay." Hahaha. It's just something I don't want to Google because I'm afraid of what will come up? I don't know, I'll just figure it out when it's my turn. Ha! Also, I remember hearing about braxton hicks on a TV show (or multiple) and the shows making it sound like they were SOOO uncommon, but they happen. And then I started reading blogs and like every single pregnant woman was like, "I'm having braxton hicks" and I was like, "What gives, shows?!" Also if I stranger tried to touch my belly I would probably karate chop them. (Except I don't know karate so I'd look ridiculous.)

    1. hahah I literally had NO idea either till I asked my dr a few weeks ago. I guess it's the cervix thinning out. so imagine something 6" tall and it gets shorter and shorter (as baby's head pushes down on it as far as I understand) Yeah braxton hicks don't hurt!! Half the time I don't even realize I'm having one until I touch my belly and it's super hard. TV makes everything with pregnancy look so much more dramatic!!

  8. Happy almost birthday! Who knows, maybe you'll get a baby for your birthday? (;

People never rubbed my belly either. I didn't get many omg you're huge comments either until the week I was due. People are rude sometimes, I'm glad you're seeing the humorous side of it all though! Don't focus too much on the so and so many cms blah blah. You could be at 5 cm for weeks! You'll know when she's ready. You'll feel really crampy and pressure down there that will get more intense as they get more and more frequent. Sort of like a muscle cramp. A lot of people said hardness, but mine were more tight and made me feel really stiff.

    Best of luck to you!!!

  11. I haven't had a stranger touch my belly yet either! So many people told me that they got touched by strangers at Home Depot, the mall, out to eat, etc. I've only even had a handful of people I know touch my belly! But seriously, people say some of the dumbest things to pregnant women. I was told the other day, "Look at that pooch!" And then someone told me today, "You still don't look THAT pregnant. It just looks like you ate too much." Like, I don't know if those are supposed to be compliments that make me feel better or not? Haha. Congrats though on almost having your sweet baby girl! Can't wait to see pictures of her soon! :)

    1. Maybe it's more common in other places? haha who even knows!! And seriously, all the backhanded compliments are so funny and confusing, like you would never tell someone "you're not THAT overweight!!" if they weren't pregnant, ya know? You look so cute, though!! I cannot wait to meet our baby girl!
